Our Story
A Story Worth Telling
Lansing's Newest Destination
The Morning Post sits at 637 E Michigan Ave in the heart of downtown Lansing — scratch-made breakfast, served in a dining room built for lingering over coffee or catching up with friends.
Our menu features a delightful array of breakfast classics and innovative dishes — from hearty bowls and benedicts to a full lineup of omelettes and sweet cream pancakes — all crafted with the freshest ingredients. We've also introduced specialty boozy brunch cocktails, adding an extra touch of cheer to the dining experience.

A Building With a Past
Inside a Piece of Lansing History
This building opened in 1902 as Lansing's Union Depot, built for the Michigan Central and Pere Marquette railroads. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and for nearly 40 years it was home to the beloved Clara's Lansing Station restaurant. Today it holds two kitchens — The Morning Post for breakfast, D'Nulffos for dinner.
A Real Piece of Railroad History
Breakfast Inside the Pullman Car
Part of our seating is inside a real Pullman rail car, attached to the building as a working extension of the dining room — not just a display piece. We don't take reservations, so ask your server about the Pullman car when you arrive and we'll seat you there if it's open.
